We help Ethiopian youth succeed in receiving and completing their education by providing:
Educational Funding, Housing & Nourishment, Facilities needed for Education, and Health Services.
Take a look around this page to learn more about each.
We provide educational funding for 80 students (and growing) aged 12-26 in Ethiopia and other African nations. We support ten houses of students as well as many in University and College.
Students are equipped with schooling, mentorship, supplies and transportation, as well as post-graduate help in obtaining jobs. Students are provided tutors during they national exam years- grades 8 and 12.
Supervised by Making The Grade and implemented by Chosen Generation.
Our students live in homes with 4 to 12 people. Each student is assigned support staff to meet their educational and physical needs. We do our best to create homes for our students. Each student is provided three nutritious meals a day and snacks.
UNIVERSITY AND COLLEGE STUDENTS
Most higher education students live on campus or in private housing. They are also assigned support staff to help them when needed. We supply additional funds, beyond their school nutrition program, to purchase fresh foods.
POST GRADUATE HOUSING
We transition graduates to independent living by providing the choice of remaining in their student housing for six months or receiving a stipend to move to their own apartment while they look for employment. They are offered six months of funding.
Supervised by Making The Grade and implemented by Chosen Generation.
Young people in Ethiopia suffer from a wide range of ailments; easily treatable as well as extensive surgical intervention. We have even provided extensive dental work for a student with multiple additional teeth requiring extraction and braces. Some medical issues are more easily treatable while others require significant attention.
That is where Making The Grade comes in. We provide medical care for our students and their families.
EXAMPLES OF OUR PROVIDED SERVICES:
At the heart of this program is the creation of a safe, nurturing home — a family-like environment where young women not only find shelter but also the care, mentorship, and opportunities they need to thrive. Implemented by Chosen Generation with support from Making the Grade: Hope for African Youth, the project integrates housing,
education, healthcare, and leadership development into a holistic journey of transformation.
Our mission is to break cycles of poverty and inequality by equipping vulnerable young women with the skills, resources, and confidence to become independent leaders and agents of change — building on the legacy of Gojjo, Yeneta, and Esther Projects.
